Understanding the Model
This analyzer combines three key factors that affect how your racquet performs on different surfaces:
String Tension
Higher tension (60+ lbs) gives more control and pop but reduces spin potential and generates more arm stress. Lower tension (45-50 lbs) provides more power and spin but can feel dead on fast courts. The sweet spot is typically 52-58 lbs for most players.
String Pattern
Denser patterns (16x20, 18x20) offer more control and durability but reduce spin and power. Open patterns (18x16, 16x19) maximize spin potential but wear out faster. The 16x19 pattern is a popular middle ground for all-court players.
Ball Pressure
Higher pressure balls (13-14 PSI) provide more pace and spin but increase string wear. Lower pressure (10-11 PSI) reduces arm stress and extends string life but can feel dead on fast surfaces. Most tournament balls start at 12 PSI.
Court Speed
Fast courts (grass, speed 80+) require lower string tension for control. Slow courts (clay, speed 40-55) benefit from higher tension to generate offensive options. Ball pressure interacts with court speed - faster courts need lower pressure to prevent excessive pace.

Defensive Baseliner
Setup: 50 lbs tension, 16x20 pattern, 11 PSI ball, slow hard court
Result: High control, moderate spin, sustainable rallies. Good for retrieving balls and constructing points.
Offensive Grinder
Setup: 58 lbs tension, 16x19 pattern, 12.5 PSI ball, medium fast court
Result: Balanced power and spin. Can attack short balls while maintaining rally depth. Works well for extended points.
Serve-and-Volley
Setup: 60 lbs tension, 18x16 pattern, 13 PSI ball, fast grass
Result: Maximum power and quick response. Excellent for net play but requires physical strength.
